Re: Hard time understanding

OK my last post on this one-here's what I objected to in Richards post:
Richard wrote:

<<<<""""When a component is compared with itself, we find audiophiles are so biased in favor of reporting differences, the typical result is "differences heard" 50% to 75% of the time.
Same component.
Same SPL.
Same CD playing.
But a high percentage of imagined differences.

It's unfortunate we audiophiles are so brainwashed into believing that all electronics and wires sound different (as speakers do)
, and real audiophiles can hear those differences, that there's only ONE way to be confident an audiophile really knows what he is talking about:
- A DBT must be used to determine whether ANY differences other than small SPL differences are really audible.""""">>>>>

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH!! From the beginning my posts have addressed this. Please look at Richards bias in his statement
"It's unfortunate we audiophiles are so brainwashed into believing that all electronics and wires sound different (as speakers do)"

Is there an inference that components and wires don't sound that much different unlike speakers? Of coursde he is saying that! I suggest when told what to listen for an untrained ear from someone off the street could hear the difference in the two power cables I mentioned in my post at least 2 of 3 times. The difference in the silibance on the vocals was so easy to spot. I assure you would hear it too.

Richards post however suggests this is unlikely. If you look at the history of his posts in AA he often posts about DBT and "imagined" things.I am sure wannabees do imagine things and human nature tells us people will lie or exagerate, or say yeah me too, but alot of people do hear many of these differences easily. This is and was my point from the very beginning. Whew! If anyone took this thread off the topic and to "personal issues" it was you. Richard never even responded to my post. Did he pay you a retainer to argue on his behalf? I will never understand your attack. I suggest you reread our minithread. Remember the challenge? Excuse me for finishing on a harsher tone than when I started but each time I carefully reread our mini thread within the thread I shake my head and say what is this guy talking about this for and not anything audio related?

Do a search and see! You can put in the posters name and so on. See the history in print! Search me too for that matter!
