It sounds like you haven't read the "article/column/letter" in question. If that is indeed the case, it may behoove you to familiarize yourself with the "article/column/letter" in question before jumping to any conclusions.

The "article/column/letter" in question was published under the title "As We See It". Now maybe it's just me, but that would seem to indicate some sort of official editorial support. Kind of like when the local newspaper endorses candidates for office. (You do remember newspapers, yes?)

And just where would you draw this line? For example, should the journal of the NAACP publish articles authored by the KKK's Imperial Wizard to avoid becoming a "drab read"? And if so, should they appear under the title "As We See It"? Just curious as to your thoughts on this....
