CD players, turntables are not strictly electrical devices. Nor are most volume pots, switchers, etc. But I get your gist.

Or scientifically rational listening tests, assuming they can be put together. Measurements in a vacuum are not sufficient. You have to correlate them with what gets to the brain.

I'll go with it, subject to the above.

Most of the time.

Of course.

Another area is that there are measurements that are not yet good enough. Another is that the ear/brain behaves in ways we do not yet understand.
