Re: "Copperweld" rings a bell to me. But..

I believe Copperweld might have been a trademark name that was eventually used as a generic term for copper clad steel wire. If Caymus could find or make up ICs with the stuff such as I described, I bet even he would change his tune about the audibility of cables. Even if not, not all is lost: he might be a candidate to buy this big tangle of old lamp wire with rubber and cloth insulation I've got that he can use for ICs after splicing them together with wire nuts and friction tape.
