They sure do.

Just a few experiences:

I haven't decided whether I prefer silver or copper, but they certainly do sound different to me. Their milspec bastard child, silver plated copper (to apply TFE insulation) is the SQ runt of the group. Skin effect is clearly audible to me, as is multistrand uninsulated (both not so good) and twisted and braided cable (yay).

A while back, I encouraged a friend with quite a lot of gear to upgrade to some of the low capacitance high performance cables I was using. When he did so, his sound certainly did improve. He was also getting up to 3 db less attenuation at 20 khz when switching through several pieces of gear.
