Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

You read that one, now read this one VERY carefully

No matter what anyone has said, science can’t be called on the solve this one.

Could your perception have been influenced by prior information. Absolutely. Can you know that it was with any certainty. Never.

Could physical properties in the cable be the source of differences in perception. Absolutely. Can you know that they were with any certainty. Never.

Your perception is a purely internal, subjective experience that you can only relate to others using language. As such it can never be objectively verified or repeated. Science has no place here. No amount of blind testing or information depravation can change that.

Since achieving the best possible auditory experience is the goal, the only scientific thing to do is buy the cable that provides this at the price you are willing to pay. If you are no longer hearing any differences, than as far as sound goes all cables are now a single homogenous good and your marginal utility is effectively zero. There is no longer reason to buy anything other than the absolute cheapest you can find.

Any data beyond your experience and the subjective value you place on it is completely irrelevant and will only interfere with your enjoyment.
