Curious hardly covers it!

My own IC cables, they're called Ear-to-Ear (E2E) .... the product of a local to me (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) designer friend who doesn't even have a web presence yet ... are silver on copper as well. Prior to those I was using Cardas Hexlink and Cardas Cross (all copper) that I was actually turned onto by the E2E designer; his buddies would turn in cables to him to exchange for E2E stuff, one such was a Cardas Hexlink 5C that a tried and loved!

My liking Cardas over E2E was a bone of contention between us but in the end it forced him to push his own design to the next level (that plus he heard a PAD cable that killed his and that also lit a flame under his butt!), and I've now made the switch; I like the new stuff even better than Cardas Golden Hexlink, that's saying something!

Add to that I recently heard the all silver TG Audio Labs HSR IC which has got to be amongst the smoothest of cables on the go!; seems to act like a noise floor scrubber, talk about blacker blacks (just wanted to get that in to drive any deadbeat looking in straight outta their minds LOL).

Of course in all these cases there's more to the cables than the fact that this one is copper, that silver, the other a mix! But still looking for the rhyme and reason behind what exactly leads to great performance is indeed curious to say the least.

...

Why don't you grab some used (does anyone actually buy cables new!, now there's a Whacko idea!) DH Labs BL1 or JPS UltraConductor, both cheap, and both likely to give noticable sonic benefits.
