What???
WHEN DID I SAY "the Starker CD sounded better than the LP. "?

Let's get thigs straight,
yes. in the post http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/general/messages/59179.html
you wrote something sbout Strker, but when and where did I said I compared
the original issue Mercury LP (not a Golden import, foreign pressing or some other later issue) to the CD ???

Later I wrote the recent release from Altavista was Mercury CD u.s print though,
Did you compare it with your favorite Mercury?

I think you are getting tired these days.

Also, it's curious that no one out liked the Mercury digital reissues - especially the latter ones! The Starker CD pales next to the LP. You're telling me/us that you've compared the original issue Mercury LP (not a Golden import, foreign pressing or some other later issue) to the CD and reached this conclusion. Awfully hard to believe. If you have, then somethings really wrong somewhere.>the Mercury digital reissues - especially the latter ones! The Starker CD pales next to the LP.

IMHO, these mercury CDs which are printed in u.s have inverted absolute polarity. Get German prints. you will find surprising difference between u.s and German prints.
2A care must be taken that although it is written as German print on the couver of a CD, the CD itself is not always printed in German.

‚v‚ˆ‚™ should I get exhorbitantly priced used orginal Mercury in the first place?
The eraly Mercury recordings of Starker BACH unacompanied Cello suites are not pariculaly
superbe in comparing to the later recordings such as Anner Bylsma(1979 sony), Mischar Maisky(1894 DG),

You are actually troller your self. As I said, do not compare the CD wiht a supposed-to-be good LP. Why do you do this, is it because Harry pearson recommended it to you? Compare it with the live. Understand how the live music sounds. Without this, what is the purpose of Ultimate ASudio? Ultimate Price you mean???
