I don't know if it can be measured, per se, but I had a decent mid
level digital combo consisting of a Cambridge Audio CD-6, Monarchy
Audio DIP mkII and an MSB Link DAC mkII over the summer and for
someone who listens to music about 4-8 hours a day, I had L.F.It was the second cdp of this model and while listening for more than
an hour, I began to get minor headaches/tension. It was an agitation
that seemed to come from the upper frequencies, although one would
think that the nasties had been tamed with the jitter box/dac installed. Since I had the little Ah! Tjoeb as well, I decided right
then and there, to dump the 'digital' rig and keep the tube player.I've since added the EMC-1 and hour after hour goes by with nary a
problem. It's similar to the court's definition of 'obscentiy', I don't know
how to define it, but I know it when I see it.Chris
