Listener's fatique is common among music students when practicing aural perception exercises. At a certain point when listening to intervals, chords or taking melodic or harmonic dictation most students experience increasingly degraded performance. That is, they become confused and eventually are unable to identify musical structures both simple and complex.Even experienced musicians can have problems tuning musical instruments, setting EQs., mixing, etc. after a long session. Intensely listening to music is demanding and, just like any demanding mental or physical activity, your mind and/or body fatigues.
