RE: Tweeter difference problem with 3.3Rs and more

Yes, I saw the Neo discussion, he's doing you good, so I figured I shouldn't confuse things.

Re 208 looks great, I think a simple mod to upgrade caps would be enough to raise performance to a high level. Bypasses on the big electrolytics or replacement with blackgates (if you can get them) I would send something like that to the upgrade co or underwood or modwright. But it looks like a very good amp at a rather cheap price.

The crossover is calculated to match the stock, so it would be more of a Bessel than a Butterworth, but its not even that steep. It is more like a first order with a "safety" first order down a couple of octaves to protect from deep bass going into the mid. Swap the polyester cap out when you have the chance. I suggest that you just match the bass crossover on the Behringer to the PLLXO high pass. That should give you the best tuning.

I don't know why your Behringer is so noisy, it is not a common problem. Could the noise be coming from upstream? Can you raise the input level into the Behringer? That should help. Using an SRC2496 to do the digitizing A/D should help with this hiss too.
