RE: Tweeter difference problem with 3.3Rs and more

Well, the 208 looks like a serious amp from NAD. Definitely not what I was expecting. I looked at the specs and the manual and it is like the answer to "how would NAD build a Bryston style amp". The bridging option and other features are very nice. I need to look at some more reviews but it looks like a real sleeper that we all had missed.

When the tweeter's high pass in the panel is engaged you would have a cap in series (i.e. a DC disconnect) and an inductor in parallel (i.e. a DC short) so you should be just fine, thump and all - so long as it isn't a seriously big one.

The polyester cap is rather "old fashioned" like the mylar caps that were all the rage a couple of decades ago. Lacks focus and is not well regarded relative to the non polar or weakly polar polymer dielectrics like oil and wax in paper polypropylene polystyrene and Teflon. Besides, I had picked out for you a nice foil cap and I venture that the polyester cap is metalized - which is hard to do well - i.e. cheap for a reason. So you should get the better caps later on as a tweak for your sound.
