Re: 0.5db at 8MHz!

I recall a comparative listening test on my system between a TARA labs speaker cable and a Kimber speaker cable. The Kimber was unquestionable more extended in the HF, but just a tad tizzy and missing some of the smaller microdetails (presumably from interstrand rectification) compared to the TARA which used, I believe only two pair of 12awg pvc insulated (australian) copper conductors twisted together. As a result I built my own formulation speaker cables which I have used ever since. My cables consist of 4 pair each signal and ground return braided 14 awg solid copper conductor (pulled out of RG6U coax) each bonded to its own thick foamed polyethylene insulation with ring lugs made up from the conductors themselves and soldered together with silver solder. Even though I believe it's spectrally tilted down just a tad in the HF range, I've been generally satisfied with this cable since then.
