This is exactly where the problem lies. "Objectivists want to do a "properly executed" DBT, via either ABX or ABC/hr..."

As a Subjectivist, for me, the introduction of additional components IMMEDIATELY invalidates the test because it introduces a set of unknown variables to the test i.e. how much does the addition equipment used in a "properly executed" DBT, either ABX or ABC/hr mask or change the sound?

I cannot speak for other Objectivists but speaking strictly for myself I can ONLY hear reliable difference when: 1)using my audio system (because after constant use I am intimately familiar with it's sound) and 2) when only 1 component is changed or introduced, not 2 or 3 at the same time, which happens when both an ABX box and other interconnects are installed.

If: 1) a sheet is setup between myself and the person changing the interconnects so I cannot see the person or the interconnects & 2) the person remains behind the sheet during the test. I cannot see how the person can be influencing what I hear in anyway!

Also by changing ONLY the interconnects, ANY changes made can ONLY be attributable to the interconnect involved. As I believe/know that EVERYTHING influences the sound inserting any ABX "black-box" is unacceptable to me.
