If they did educate the buyers and publish this type of information, perhaps people would question how expensive cables can be justified when less expensive ones have similar measurements. Many of the high value (not high cost) cable companies do publish this data.

Also, some boutique cables have a deliberate sonic signature and are not designed to be transparent and may not measure well. However if a person who likes that flavor of sound heard it they might like it, so why have buyers dismiss the cable out of hand due to a published measurement?
