Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Empirical proof (observation) is all that's needed.

Most audiophiles discover cable differences and other things audio such as high performance parts as a matter-of-course and don't think much about "a need for scientific proof" other than what they hear (that's what audiophilia is all about). They enjoy the journey as much as the destination (The Great Audio Adventure). Simply having an open mind and heart is their test kitchen (one does not need to be an EE to know what they "should" hear).

I usually find that most naysayers don't even bother to listen to high performance cables vs. basic cables, instead they mentally write off (with a narcissistic superiority complex) the whole notion as being "dangerous" bunk, and seem to enjoy trashing those who "hear a difference", often bashing cable advocate's direct listening experiences as being delusional (a profoundly harsh and unfounded accusation). One should simply consider the source when cables and cable advocates are slammed by naysayers. They deserve no respect since they offer none (so one must try not to be too offended by their hostility).

High performance cabling as a concept is often considered by inexperienced newbies and naysayers alike to be overrated if not a "lie" (both positions based on ignorance). Newbie's doubts are forgivable since many have an inquisitive curiosity and can be enlightened via audible experience of such (rubber hitting the road). Naysayer's POV is most often a belligerent brickwall (all hope is lost). It's really *their* loss, after all...

Enjoy your cables :-)
