"Why anyone thinks this is better, or worth more money is beyond me."

Personal taste, and no longer having a tone control on the pre-amp I guess.

I am not sure if there is any debate that cables with large differences in RLC can sound different. It is silly to overpay for a cable that skews these measures to one extreme or the other.

I think it is strange that many audiophiles seek cables to color the sound of their systems, but reject tone controls or equalizers as degrading the sound.

Even when the equalization is performed in the digital domain where the equalization can be accurately and cleanly performed it is seen as bad mojo. The same folks will then rejoice in an expensive cable that tunes the sound of their system to their liking with less flexibility, accuracy, control.

Go figure.
