Andy,I do not need to technically or scientifically verify what I KNOW I heard. You need to remember I went into this experiment believing cables do not affect sound!
For years I would not believe cables could affect sound. In fact I threatened to stop doing business at my local audio salon, where I bought all my audio components because when I went to upgrade preamps, Bernie (the owner) suggested I'd be better srved buying better wires. As I said I got very mad and threatened to stop doing business if Bernie suggested again that I buy cables.
To that Bernie suggested I take home approximately 5 sets of interconnects and listen for myself, in my owm home. With these 5 and the cheap set I bought from Rat Shack, my friends set and I believe one additional set, I started my experiment.
With some interconnects the change was anything but subtle. I KNOW what heard. In spite of the fact that I adamantly believed I wouldn't hear any differences---differences I heard! I am almost insulted that Objectivists would try to get me believe I'm fooling myself.
I also notice that Objectivists often spout, that Subjectivists see a component, have preconcieved notions that it will sound better and hence believe it sounds better when they hear it. But when I ask these same Objectivists "IF" that's true (as they claim they believe) then explain why when as an Objectivist (at that time) I saw a component, had preconcieved notions that it wouldn't sound better and yet in spite of those beliefs it sounded better when I heard it? Now the Objectivists ignore that question and start canned answer #12 the tests weren't scientific.

I don't need to scientifically validate, when I look at the sun it bright.
I don't need to scientifically validate, when I look into a dark room I cannot see.
I don't need to scientifically validate, crap tastes nasty.
I don't need to scientifically validate, steak tastes wonderful.
I don't need to scientifically validate, when I change powercords I seldom hear differences.
I don't need to scientifically validate, when I change interconnects I can hear differences.I also notice you all run scared when I tell you come, visit my home and I'll prove I hear differences in interconnects, so you can hear and witness this for yourselves. When I do this boy do the excuses ever start flying then!
