Actually Peter Aczel answered that question much better than I could but I cannot locate the quote at present. The bottom line is is that perception may vary even where the performance of the equipment remains the constant and an eulogy about the PERFORMANCE of component is a poor substitute for proper measurements of the selfsame performance.
