No other hobby has cost differences and unsubstantiated claims as does ours does. A Ferrari will blow my lowly Bimmer off of the road. Does the highly praised Dartzeel really sound 6 times better than my 50 watt Plinius (a mini Plini?)? Or is it really perhaps a 1 or 2 % difference? For that difference I would much rather spend my hard earned (the extra 15 grand) on room acoustics or better speakers for a possible 20 % change for the better. As if an amp or a cable change is going to make bjh's speakers sound like yours.

Yes, I hear differences. But I don't see that they really are as great as those claimed. As far as cables. Put on another disc. That peaky high now sounds flat. Do I change out from a copper cable to a silver cable to compensate? Or just find something that is relatively neuteral and live with it as I have? Otherwise, do refer to Julian's last words in the posted article. Something like enjoy the music. As now are you. I listen to the music and more or less am searching for better software. A well done Miles SACD on a good system. Yeah. Debating on whether or not his Harmon mute would sound better with this cable or that is laughable. The fact that he just hit a blue note and chose not to re record it... ouch!
