Re: What do you have to lose?

Lynn,

I do indeed have a very open mind. I believe EVERYTHING we look at or believe is like a diamond in that it's multi-faceted. As I can only base my opinion on the knowledge I've gained via the facets I've viewed through or had others tell me they've seen via the facets they've looked through, I know there's always the chance that viewing into a new facet will reveal my belief is flawed (that's why I did my cable experiment for myself)

So I agree with you as a consumer I nothing to lose using the approach you mentioned. Fact is I have proven to myself that I can, in a blind test (I was blindfolded) hear the difference between my Z-Squared Au/Au and Rat Shack interconnects 5 times out of 5 times. I was also able to differentiate between an Audiomecca Keops (my old CDP) and a BlueNote Stibbert (my new CDP) 5 times out of 5 times blindfolded!

Believe it or not, with the CDP's it only required hearing about 15 seconds of a Steely Dan song, Aja I believe it was (the interconnects took longer) The drummer is playing a solo and stops hitting the drums and clicks his two drumsticks together two times. Once I heard those drumsticks hit I could identify with 100% accuracy which CDP was being used.

I cannot speak for any others here, but I don't lie. If I can't hear differences I'll readily admit it. I find no shame in not hearing differences all the time. When I hear them, I hear them, and when I don't, I don't.

Truth be told the main reason I invited Pat D and RGB over was I wanted to shock them when I PROVED that I can identify my interconnects, in my system with 100% accuracy, BLINDFOLDED! But now the cat is out of the bag. Your post was so level-headed, rational and non accusitory I decided to tell you.

Good Listening to you sir!
