My system in high school was pretty much Stereo Review type stuff -- lots of Dyanakits, A-25's and then AR-11's -- then I discovered Stereophile, I think while I was still in college, and a friend got a pair of KLH-9's, which he still uses. Those nines were a revelation to me. At some point, I got the Thorens and the Rabco, and then when I had my first job after school I got my 1-Ds, and when I was making more money, upgraded to the SOTA, the Conrad-Johnson, a Meridian CD player (14 bits!), etc.
