A hard solid wall all the way across is the best for Planer (Dipole) speakers. Anything else is a compromise. It can still sound good but not best. Putting an absorbing curtain over the TV will compromise imaging. You have to understand the first reflection concept of dipoles. Most dipoles do not beam. They spread out sound all over the room except for the ceiling and floor. If you put absorption between the speakers you usually screw up imaging and a sense of aliveness.
