I disagree. How much more evidence do you need. High-end shops are disappearing, mid-fi shops (Tweeter, Good Guys & etc.) disappeared, and record stores have disappeared. It is just a matter of time before many of the high-end audio manufacturers disappear. At the recent CES, the high-end section was poorly attended and the amount of exhibitors were down significantly. For a guy like yourself, who likes to demo and change gear regularly, your choices could soon be significantly impacted. However, I do agree with you that we should let things take its natural course. Then, maybe some of the insane prices and snake-oil will be eliminated. Take care.
