RE: Is this feasible? Rectifying 6.3v for heaters

How do you only get 7.7v? 6.3vac x 1.41=8.88Vdc. Which is what I always get, using a Shottkey diode of course. Then, just a series resistor to the heater to drop it to 6.3Vdc.
