Well, the debunking has already been out there for years for anyboy to see. Though obviously it helps to point the way a bit.As stated numerous times, no, I never heard the comparisons Harley and Atkinson heard as I've never heard any flavor of an MQA recording and Lord willing, I never will. For the simple reason because I already know no recording format of any sort can be anything but marginally better than what's available today. It's just not possible. And with all the marketing propaganda and snake oil endorsements surrounding MQA, I seriously doubt Stuart and co. even put much effort into their work from a performance perspective.
In all honesty, I suspect Stuart & co. including Atkinson and Harley with their early endorsements, were banking on the fact that a very good percentage of listeners, including those in "high-end" audio, lack even basic listening skills. Anyway, I suspect that's why their MQA coming out parties and endorsements shot for the moon. A little mind-over-matter psychology or brainwashing of the masses if you will.
This brainwashing crap actually works fairly well in this very subjective audio-only industry, even with some-to-many who might possess reasonable or better listening skills. In fact, I'd venture to say, thus far it even worked well enough with MQA's rollout for the all-important first 2 or 3 years of product launch. But now it looks like some of hens are starting to come home to roost.
BTW, this is a bit off topoic. But taking into consideration current events, your continued endorsement of Atkinson (see below), along with your seemingly laissez faire / don't much care attitude, I can't help but wonder what value you might have provided to the industry as a reviewer, or how many more reviewers have a similar mind-set.
