I think you've hit the wood-fastener right on the cranium, most of the audience might well have been expecting an 80's singles fest and as you rightly say, been dumbstruck at a 22 minute performance of 'Suppers ready' followed by Watcher of the Skies, Twilight Alehouse, Carpet Crawlers, Lilywhite Lilith, Back in NYC, Giant Hogweed and The Knife with an extended Encore of Musical Box. Me? I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk....I'd be in rapture...18 years old again and back in Manchester, paying 30p (6/-) in real money to see the Charisma tour and being 'blown away' by this band of kids not that much older than myself playing music unlike anything I'd heard before, which I still find as intoxicating now as then...But then again the very 1st band I saw was Black Sabbath, playing..etc..etc..etc
