Replacing the hard drive on my at-work PC with a quiet one (Seagate Barracuda IV) has made a large difference -- the old drive had a constant whine. For whatever reason, in my case, the volume and noticeability of the tinnitus are much affected by what I've had to hear over the last 48 hours, and constant noises, even at low volume, make it worse. Now I just have to figure out how to sabotage the building's ventilation system.Stereo gear with untamed high-end nasties can also be a problem.
