I asked my ear doctor about this. He said this is due to change in pressure in your head from getting up. Once the air pressure stabilizes, the ringing will go away or become less.
My ears start ringing from listening to my stereo at 65 dB. Boom boxes are even worse due to the higher distortion.
I got some Bilson Viking hearing protection and wear them at work when my ears start getting fatigued from backgorund noise. These are the best I have found and $25 is a cheap price. They are light weight and pretty comfortable.http://www.mscdirect.com/mscProductSearch.process?query=00384164&search_cat=K&RestartFlow=t&RowsPerPage=15&QuickFlag=1&Merchant_Id=1&Go.x=23&Go.y=6
