Tinnitus gets to be the worst around one, to three years after you start noticing it.
At first you think it a an annoyance.
Then it is a problem
Then it is a REAL problem
Finally after three or four years, you realize it ain't going anywhere
far away, if today it is a tiny bit better, tomorrow it will be worse.
I have had Tinnitus in both ears... the left I am totally deaf in from an accident. The screech in my left ear is about 10,000hz a rushing sound. never stops. about as loud as normal conversation.
I can listen to annoying buzzers that drive my co-workers crazy! I could listen to them all frick'in day!!! who cares!!! They ask "how can you stand to let that thing go?" Thay haven't a cue as to what an annoying sound is!!!
All the BS crap Doctors try to spout is useless. They say that folks stop complaining after 3 or 4 years, because they have found relief. WRONG!!!! Folks stop complaining because they realize the Docs got nothing that can help. The only drugs that really work, make you a ZOMBIE too! Don't even try Tegritol.....
Anyway, this is a really gloomy thing to tell you. Sorry.
At around 2 years I really was going nuts. but after 32 years of screeching I don't care. Like I said, the point that is the worst is around 2 to 3 years in... Best to just accept it. Ain't no way it's goin' anywhere you aren't
Sleep is a bitch if you are strung out on the noise. a super soft CD changer playing good music endlessly helps relax. My favorite is with Yo Yo MA playing Bach... That sort of stuff.
Avoid loud noises at all costs. Sirens in the street, I plug my ears with my fingers right off etc. The noise generators can work for some. I was ealier than those, and didn't need such things by the time they came out. and music is better.
