Has anyone tried, with success or failure, treatment(s) for tinitus?

Yes, I did a search here, finding very little of depth on the subject.

I myself have a mild case, mild enough, thank goodness, that it goes unnoticed much of the time. I've checked out a few sites and while there seems to be a goose egg of AMA approved treatments the "alternative" community, as one might suspect, offers a few.

Have you tried stuff with names like "Ring Stop" or "Hear All" or "Ear Health"? How about Ginko, Garlic, homeopathic remedies or tailored vitamin supplements?

How about lifestyle changes? Have you tried cutting out (or stepping up :-) intake of caffine, alcohol, aspirin or other anti-inflamitory drugs? How about "sound therapy" (although teaching oneself to simply ignore the symptom has limited appeal, to me at any rate)?

Personal experience here please. i.e. "I tried the following and it sucked" or "This actually helped."

My ringing is at its worst when I'm both (1) tired and (2) surrounded by deep quiet. Like now.

TIA
