Both are common circuit board substrates. Drilled, milled, and now laser cut countless times every day.I have been making PC boards at home for over 30 years. I lately use true PC board drills with the 1/8in shank but before that I just used standard carbide bits and still do for any hole over 1/16in.
Never really had any issues other than the bit dulling after about 1000 holes or so. But that's a very rough estimate.
