I have had demonstrations from other users on four or five different "esoteric" power cords. I picked the standard Volex every time for best dynamics and overall presentation. I have absolutely nothing positive or suitable for print to say about "esoteric" audiophile power cords what so ever.
Magnetic field is something most designers try to reduce because of it's effects not only on power supplies as I noted, but signal circuitry as well.
Ask John Curl on some of the lengths he goes through to reduce magnetic field interference.
