it is more robust in this regard than those of all but boutique solid state amplifiers, and, additionally, it totally lacks solid state grain.

Since this is propellar head, we can have an objective discussion, so a few questions for you.

What is solid state grain?
How are you quantifying this distortion?

And in your post, you say

These comments are too generic,

What type of SS amplifiers are you referring to, Class A?
Can be more specific about SS output device, Bipolar, JFET or MOSFET?
And which output device nonliearities are you referring to?
