Please tell me how two amps that measure "perfectly" will still sound different? The distortion levels are inaudible then how is it still audible...something's missing don't you think?
Geddes demonstrated in a study that THD and IMD have no correlation with perceived sound quality. Those are the main Amir measurements... D.E.L Shorter and several others noted the same throughout the decades...that Amir continues to beat that dead horse tells me he is not a serious student of improving audio quality...to the listener.
This is especially important in light of the fact that a lot of people will find amps with much higher distortion in an objective sense to sound, not just more pleasant but more realistic to what their aural memory is to live, unamplified music.
Do you go to hear live music frequently? Do you hear those instruments only in a large hall or do you have the opportunity to hear solo instruments/small ensembles up close? It matters because of what one gauges as "real".
