I think one of the disdavantages of the sandwich model is that the frame weighs quite a bit more than a single sided frame with the driver screwed down.

The 2 pieces have different resonant frequencies which may damp one another.....defeating the purpose of the wood.

The additional mass changes the resonance frequency if the whole assembly, too.


Just mulling this over, for now.
