MMG frames, coupling?

Dear all,
hi everyone. I have finally plucked up enough dutch courage to make some wooden frames for my MMGs. A few questions...

1) Would i want to lay the speaker driver directly on naked wood, or would i want to use something like dynamat to couple it to the wood, ie would i lay dynamat (or some other such material) on to the wood, then lay the metal speaker driver onto the dynamat?

2) If i am not happy with my work (i am in no doubt that the wooden frames are better than the MDF frames the MMGs come with, however i am in doubt that my woodworking skills will yield good results), and choose to go back to the MDF frames, what is the best way to re-insert the original 'nails' that held the driver in place? Those nails are awfully close to the mylar, i sweat just looking at how to do this incase i need to.

Would i want to place dynamat between the driver and the MDF frames? ie, lay some dynamat on to the MDF frames, and lay the driver onto the dynamat rather than directly onto the MDF itself? is there any point in doing this? And is there any space between the driver and MDF to do this in the first place?

DR's Razoring pictures show the dynamat going ON TOP of the driver, to the wood. This i will do as well, but while the driver is coming out, any advantage (or disadvantage) to laying dynamat on the frames BETWEEN the frames and speaker driver?

Anyone tried this, using dynamat (or other material) to couple the driver to the frames? Most of the pictures i have seen posted on the forum seem to suggest placing the driver directly onto the frames.

Many thanks in advance for the input.
Warmfires.
