If you're using 2 pieces of wood, front and back, and 'sandwiching' the driver in between ...

... then I suggest you "overlap" them - ie. one side has stiles going top to bottom, the other has top & bottom strips going the full width.

Can you chamfer the inside edges of the stiles - at the front, anyway?
