Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Re: Interestingly . . .

One can work around the narrowing dispersion of the Quads as the frequency goes up if one has sufficient room and sets them up well.

I'm not sure what an "audiophile approved speaker" would be. Somebody must like those bright speakers (bright is not a very exact term here) and it's not up to me to tell them what they *should* like. But I tend to like speakers with a smooth response.

I don't myself get very much out of speaker distortion measurements.

"The real value in speaker measurements, it seems to me, is not so much in their absolute results but in the comparative results from one speaker to another."

I think there's a lot to that.
