Interesting video. But don't you find it strange that some of the heavy drumming was always done in the dark? It raised suspicions of faked performance. When I visited mexico two years ago, my friend there introduced me to a band called Mana, and I remember it sounding a lot like the Police in spanish, except the whole band was sloppy and out of tune. I also found out that a lot of bands there perform concerts by playing a tape and faking it. And that's what came to mind with the drums in the dark. Another edit was a double cymbal dubbed over the middle of a complex rhythm sequence. The edit job was nice, but it was too fishy to think it was percussinve wizardry. The diversion from the pattern would have benn too much to then return to it in perfect stride. And the camera shot just doesn't suddenly jump to that and out again in actual performance. Too obvious. The tempo change at the beginning was also fishy. I'm also sure the bassline was also faked using a sequencer. That was just too complex, rhythmicly tricky, and precise to think it was the bass player actually playing it. Made even further obvious seeing the bass player just standing there with what looked like a five string fretless. Reminded me of the scenes from the old Partridge Family TV series. Give me a break.
The real clincher was listening to a different live performance on Rhapsody. Sounded like a totally different band. Sloppy and out of tune. None of the superhuman musical feats in the video. Sorry to burst your bubble.
On the surface it was impressive. I know you like Sintek, and for a latin band, it is still quite good. But you got carried away believing some obscure latin band really had musicianship comparable to Dream Theater.
