For those who are familiar with drumming technique.... Or know drummers who perform the following technique....I am looking for examples of "polyrhythmic drumming", taking place in actual rock songs.
I've seen a few examples on the web, including YouTube, mostly as solos or drumming clinics. But nothing pointing to actual rock songs.
I was told polyrhythmic drumming involves a drummer playing two or more time signatures simultaneously. 3/4 together with 4/4. I didn't even realize this was even possible. (I cannot imagine how one doesn't lose track of one of the beats.) I'm not sure if I could recognize it as of now.
Bands/drummers with song titles alone will suffice, but links to tracks or videos would be even better. And it can be anyone, not just Peart, Copland, Palmer, Moon, Baker, etc..
This is to satisfy a personal curiosity. Mainly to verify or refute a claim someone made about a specific drummer. (I don't want to disclose anything now, in case the claim turns out to be false.) And to recognize "polyrhythms" in rock music. The linked page suggests it's not that common in rock. Only citing a Queen tune. The subject hasn't been talked about much on Audio Asylum either.
All responses are welcome and appreciated!!
