RE: Chokes/ R-C Shunts

Much depends upon your RFI environment and how your power amp might react if presented with such.

The hand-waving nonsense from other posters is entertaining, but the actual mechanism here is the interesting part.
The basic concept is that if your speakers/wire are acting as antennas, then you'd like to prevent that from getting back into your amplifier feedback loop. 'Lots of possible variables that might affect whether this is an issue or not in any particular users system.
Evaluating just subjectively and expounding with rhetorical flair is fine, but I'm interested in the actual interfacing that's happening if there is (or isn't) a problem.
