RE: Good/bad news :-))

Yo J,

I do know about v39. I havent had the pleasure of putting it on my audio rig because I am redoing my rig with the new hardware....genius on my part is taking the old cmp2 box and telling the wife we need to upgrade the personal computer. Spend the $5-600 for the new cmp2 hardware and the old cmp2 box becomes the "new" personal computer. Now if I tried for a moment to buy a new audio computer, I would have to do THAT against her wishes!!

Which means that I am still building the new one. I thought I could swap hdds and you can with some driver installation though right now the latency is a bit higher than it should be so I will just start over and rightly so.

You really should move to the dedicated box and hardware to get the full effect....

Glad you are enjoying your system. I plan to get mine going this week, or at least most of it. We will see. I have the skillset to put this off till I die so always an uphill battle!

Try making some ICs but putting them on the same tape, with the + and - separated by the tape.

And fwiw, that cable set was much more than just some magwire in a tube. Remember the gel? And the top of the line connectors and the fancy tech flex and the sand, and the teflon insulated conductors (hand done) on the + conductor, and the damn time to make that stuff. I was too cheap.

Oh and one guy had some of the wire on his Krell amp and I found out that he thought there was some issue with the wire because he heard a kind of intermittent "hiss" with my wire. Turns out it was a channel problem with the Krell that his other cable was masking.

Therein lies the rub. Not every system is going to like a super revealing cable...

Though I think if one is smart and has good components with his/her mags, then a super revealing cable is exactly what is called for. Like the inmate I sent some ICs to. They went on and on about how bad the sound was. And when I found out the system my ICs were in I was not surprised. Like that line from Tootsi I think where they talk about pulling the camera back to make her look more attractive and the camera guy says "how about as far as cleveland." Yet the same ICs in another inmates system are quite good!
