So glad you are worrying about vibration and thanks for having done that test with the 30g.
This is a weird result. There is only one thing that comes to mind. Perhaps Andy has a thought.
Anyhow a round conductor (aggregate) vs a ribbon (aggregate), the round should suffer more from the skin effect and have a slower more bloated bass. The ribbon should have less smear. Often the smear is interpreted as better bass. Though less smear should be more dynamic and detailed. What is confusing me is that your results with the magwire seem to bear this out, but your reference to the thick 12g is confusing.
You seem to say the ribbon sounds (on the bass) more like the 12g, and I would expect the MM842r to sound more like the round 12g.
Now you can do the full Razor for you cables :)
Also on this ribbon where do you have the bigger conductors?? In the middle? At the ends, etc?
