RE: Apologies for the long post, answers and some speculation on the ribbons

Well, I think the testimonials from Graz customers are pretty strong. There was an improvement of very satisfying significance, but I don't know if there was a total solution.

Of course, the solution is to buy OEM BG Neo 10 to do the midbass/midrange, but they don't sell them for DIY. So you need to buy like one of their $7K installation speakers and rip it apart. just a joke...

There is a big flamey argument here about the kapton vs free foil benefits

It seems that the naked aluminum makes a better ultimate transducer. Though the argument for that brings to mind the question of whether thinner kapton impregnated with graphite - or perhaps graphite doped polyethylene or -propylene such as may be used in conductive plastic would be a solution for the ribbon - though the low conductivity might not be enough to actually have it work. Ahh Bucky tube sheets!!! they are nicely conductive!

Here is a convenient search tool for the old apogee forum. BTW some familiar handles there (e.g. Morricab Muralman and Florian) http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp_a=sp100484da&sp_f=ISO-8859-1&sp_q=+%09FR-MRTW&sp_p=all

And the URL for Graz' new Apogee forum. http://www.apogeeacoustics.com/forum/
