MG 20.1 vs BG Neo 8 mids

I am not sure that they do.
I am sure that they outdo the mids on the MG20 (not push pull). From some folks' comments, I concluded that the Maggie push pulls don't sound better then the single ended ones up to 85 db or so, where the single ended mids start very mild compression, and the push pulls do not till you are in the near 100 db range. Never had the fortunate circumstance to compare them head to head.

In my own experience replacing the Tympani IV midrange with Neo8, the difference is of jaw dropping proportions.
They are also better than the RD75, but the latter has an easier FR to deal with, while the FR on the Neo8 will have you tearing your hair out, tinkering with filters, raising and lowering your seating position, horn loading and wave guiding etc. (I was not jokingly considering a barber's chair for listening) But it just plain works with enough drivers in the line array. If you cross where the MG20 crosses, the dispersion limitations are not a problem (these start at 5-6 khz).

The Neo8 lines have all the magic of the electrostats without the problems. That's why I have been enslaved to making the concept work for 5 years now.
