I didn't know that the Neo-8's have a higher maximum output. I do have a white paper for the RD series, but it doesn't include distortion specs; I had one also for the Neo-3 but was never able to find anything but application notes for the Neo-8.
I'm skeptical of attempts to tame the Neo-8's resonance with EQ, since it appears that total power response is flat. So BG's or another notch filter would fix on-axis response only at the expense of room response. Have you tried digital filters for the crossover? I don't know how much of your source material is analog: since I'm a all-digital shop at this point, an FIR crossover would make a lot of sense for me. I'm thinking that a 6 driver array might take the resonance enough to make a notch filter tolerable, if I go that route. Which of course is predicated on my finding and scoring another pair of IVA's -- another possibility if I don't would be to combine my 1D bass panels with the ribbon tweeter from an MG-IIIA, but that would be a lot more work since I'd need to build a custom frame for the mid and tweeter. Paradoxically, the large IVA's seem the most practical choice for my little room.
