Makes sense. I think it really depends on how you listen. I never blow speaker fuses these days, but when I was in my 20's I popped fuses on my Tympanis all the time. And bottomed the woofer and hard clipped the amp . . . good thing they were indestructible. My main concern these days (besides whether young me did terminal damage to my ears) would be some kind of accident, feedback or a component failure, accidentally connecting a cable with the amp on, that sort of thing.
