W/ only ~325W into 4 Ohms from my class D amps I have fried the ribbons once and the fuses did not open. But that was when I had temporarily moved them to a room when my HT was being built and I had forgotten to remove the protective strips. Ribbons fried on a very dynamic movie, not music. So the ribbon fuses seem useless for me. I have also blown the midrange fuses. I have not bypassed fuses on this pair of speakers yet. But I also own IIb's 1.6s, and MMGs. I think that my above post related to what I had done to my 1.6s years ago one which I had never blown the fuses (they are now my rear speakers).
