Great point.

My wife's "large" 2015 6-cylinder Nissan Pathfinder gets 22-24 mpg combined city/highway driving. This is slightly more than my 1999 6-cylinder Nissan Maxima sedan, which is more like 20-22. (Both using 87 octane gas.)

Neither of them are hardly "gas guzzlers". Remember gas guzzlers? You know, the giant 1960s cars so revered by car enthusiasts and which got something like 8-12 mpg?

I have no idea about the actual mpg of a Chevy Cobalt, or any of the Porsche coupes.

You wanna see gas guzzlers? Take a look at the president's motorcade fleet of giant armored SUVs. ;)
